Our Beliefs

THE BIBLE

We believe God has given us a book (the Bible) that is true and can be trusted. It was written by men but inspired by God – and every part of it points to Jesus. Everything that’s described below should be helpful, and when the dust settles, the Bible is our statement of faith.

THE EVERLASTING FATHER

We believe in God. He created everything, including you and me. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, everywhere-present and worthy to be loved with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind. He is the Father of creation and the source of all things.

JESUS

We believe God is revealed fully in Jesus, who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross for our sins, and was supernaturally raised from the dead. This planet hasn’t seen the last of Him.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit is God revealed in His power and presence. The Spirit is here to draw us and keep us connected to God, empower us to live a supernatural life, and to convict us of sin. When the Holy Spirit is in us it is God governing us from the inside out.

FALLEN MAN

We believe all human beings are spiritually lost, wandering around trying to make sense of this life and consistently messing it up. Only through Jesus can we be found, and this is very much what God wants. If we submit to Jesus’ leadership as Lord, we will be saved; if we continue on our own path, we will end up separated from God forever.

SALVATION

We believe salvation is by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe in water baptism as an outward expression of one’s inner faith—that it’s God’s plan for every believer to be baptized in water.

INFILLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that it is the will of God that each believer be filled with the Holy Spirit and receive a prayer language of speaking in tongues.

GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT

We believe the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life. We believe the Holy Spirit provides one or more spiritual gifts to all believers, manifesting them as He wills. We believe that all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit are operative today.

RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

We believe that God desires a relationship with every human being. He is our Father in Heaven, and our Father wants His Kids to know Him.

SANCTITY OF LIFE

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, children who are orphaned, those who experience physical or mental challenges, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life.

THE KINGDOM OF GOD

We believe that God’s Kingdom is here now. While His Kingdom is ever-expanding, and will continue to expand long after the earth is gone, we believe that Jesus brought His Kingdom with Him. Mankind lost access to the Kingdom through sin, but Jesus gave us access again through His life, death, and resurrection.

MARRIAGE, SEXUALITY, AND GENDER

We believe in the historically Christian view of marriage and sexual expression; namely, that marriage is a one-flesh covenant union between two sexually different persons (male and female) from different families, and that all sexual relationships outside the marriage covenant are sin.

God has given his people two best ways to enjoy connection in family: celibate singleness for the sake of kingdom work with undivided attention, or lifelong marriage between one woman and one man.

Biological sex is an essential part of human identity.

All forms of abuse, slander, dehumanization, toward fellow humans is an affront against God’s sacred image, which has been stamped upon all people.
