Fasting is a declaration to our flesh and to God, that our hunger for God’s Spirit is much greater than our desire to satisfy ourself physically.

Isaiah 58:6 (NASB)

6 “Is this not the fast which I choose,

To loosen the bonds of wickedness,

To undo the bands of the yoke,

And to let the oppressed go free

And break every yoke?

 

Fasting is going to bring freedom from in and bondage. There are certain things that God wants to break off of your life and YOU want broken off of your life, and some of them only break off of you as you fast. “But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”] (Matthew 17:21)

 

As you fast you increase your capacity to align your spirit with the Holy Spirit and for the spirit to dominate the rest of your being and bring tremendous breakthrough.
