BAPTISM
BAPTISM
MAKE YOUR DECISION PUBLIC
At the very core, baptism signifies a personal choice — a decision to walk in God’s will and an outward testimony of an inward change. It is like putting on a new identity, one that reflects the image and example of Jesus Christ.
Jesus died, was buried, and rose again. In baptism we are identifying fulling with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Baptism is where we make a covenant with Jesus to be His disciples(apprentices) and to follow Him as the Lord of our life.
Unlike many rites of passage that are contingent upon one’s achievements, baptism is rooted in Grace. We see in the scriptures that every time people put their faith in Jesus Christ their next step was baptism. It is as much for the seasoned believer as it is for the prodigal returning home or the brand new disciple tentatively taking their first spiritual steps.
